German potato salad recipe
for 4 to 6 servings:

Potato salad ingredients:
2 hardboiled eggs
1,5 kg waxy potatoes

250 g cooked ham
5 pickled gherkins
250 ml light mayonnaise  (4,8 % fat)
2 tbsp. chopped parsley

Stuffed Pumpkin

Recipe Ingredients for 3-4 servings of stuffed pumpkin:
1 Hokaido pumpkin (800g)
1 bread roll
1 midsize onion
2 tbsp. parsley
350 g ground beef
1 egg
1 tbsp. mustard
1 teasp. ground careaway

You already had enough of halloween food, pumpkin stencils, pumpkin carving templates, pumpkin faces, pumpkin bread recipes, pumpkin decorating ideas, scary pumpkin faces, pumpkin costumes, pumpkin painting ideas, pumpkin carving kits, pumpkin whoopie pies, pumpkin patterns, pumpkin cut outs, pumpkin masks, ….. et cetera ???

The german dinner or lunch recipe below requires fewer effort but may give you much more satisfaction than all that other halloween pumpkin recipes.

Preparation of the dinner or lunch recipe :

1. Cut out a lid out of the pumpkin where the peduncle is located.

Onion tart or German Zwiebelkuchen

Recipe Ingredients for 3-4 servings
of onion tart or german Zwiebelkuchen:

for the dough:
250 g flour
100 ml milk

pinch of sugar
1 teasp. of salt

20 g yeast
20 g sunflower oil



for the filling of the onion tart or Zwiebelkuchen:
500-600 g onions
200 ml cream
250 g curd cheese, light
1 teasp. ground caraway
3 teasp. salt
1-2 teasp. ground pepper
100 g grated gouda cheese
2-3 teasp. chopped parsley

This baking recipe is a variation of the typical german Zwiebelkuchen or onion tart. Once we had forgotten to buy ham Kristin just left it out.

 

Preparation of this traditional german onion tarte recipe:

1. Make a soft yeast dough out flour, milk, yeast, sugar, sunflower oil.

potato soup with kohlrabi and wieners:

5 waxy big potatoes
1 kohlrabi

1 l vegetable stock
2 small onions

Ingredients /equipment for 3-4 servings bread dumplings:

250 g white buns or bread
4 tbsp. butter
Bread dumplings
1 midsize fine diced onion
3 eggs
250 ml milk
pinch of salt
pinch of ground nutmeg
100 g fresh parsley
1 linen

Preparation of bread dumplings:

1. Fry the fine diced onion in a pan. Cut the bread or buns in 1cm³ dices and put them in a large bowl.

Ingredients for 2-3 servings meatballs Meatballs
with carrots, boiled potatoes and gravy
side dish for the meatballs:
10 waxy potatoes
1kg carrots

meatballs:
1 tbsp. oil
1 midsize onion
salt and pepper optional
500g beef ground chuck
1 egg


4 tbsp. chopped parsley
20g butter
125ml cream
starch flour optional

Preparation of side dish and meatballs:
1. Peel the potatoes and the carrots. Cut the carrots into 0,5cm rings and boil for about 20-25 minutes. Boil the potatoes until they are done.
