Plum cake recipe
for 4 to 6 servings:
225 gr. farmer cheese
4 tbsp. oil
60 ml milk
pinch of salt
180 g sugar
450 g flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
2kg damsons

 Since the middle of juli 2011 plums are ripe in Germany. We use them every year especially for the preparation of cakes, jellies, chutneys…

Now, what is the right term in english for the fruits that we use in this recipe here?

On www.leo.org one of the most common websites that we use in Germany at the moment for translation from german to english there are several words that you can find for the german term “Zwetschge“. May we ask you for your advice?

Recipe for lamb roast

Ingredients:
1,4 kg leg of lamb
1 cinnamon stick

2 tbsp. lemon zest
a pinch of chilli powder
1 spanish onion
6 garlic cloves
1 l milk
3 tbsp. olive oil
salt and pepper
2 teasp. curry powder

 

Lamb roast recipe or easter lamb recipe  

Ingredients for the side dish orzo:

500 g orzo
1 garlic clove
200 g goat cheese
100 ml tomato pureé

Preparation of this recipe for lamb roast or easter lamb:

1. Season the leg of lamb (not necessarily deboned) with salt and pepper.

100 g cornstarch
2 eggs
1 l cold milk
100 g sugar

Recipe Ingredients for 3-4 servings
of onion tart or german Zwiebelkuchen:

for the dough:
250 g flour
100 ml milk

pinch of sugar
1 teasp. of salt

20 g yeast
20 g sunflower oil

 



for the filling of the onion tart or Zwiebelkuchen:
500-600 g onions
200 ml cream
250 g curd cheese, light
1 teasp. ground caraway
3 teasp. salt
1-2 teasp. ground pepper
100 g grated gouda cheese
2-3 teasp. chopped parsley

This baking recipe is a variation of the typical german Zwiebelkuchen or onion tart. Once we had forgotten to buy ham Kristin just left it out.

Preparation of this traditional german onion tarte recipe:

1. Make a soft yeast dough out flour, milk, yeast, sugar, sunflower oil.

Ingredients for 3-4 servings of German cherry pie aka Kirschenmichel
this cherry pie recipe:

500 g sweet cherries (canned or fresh)
150 g farina (out of soft wheat)
2 eggs

250 ml milk

0,5 teasp. oil of bitter almonds

1 vanilla pod
60 g butter
125 g sugar
125 g flour
3 tbsp. baking powder

Preparation of the german cherry pie recipe:

1. Mix sugar, butter, pulp of a vanilla pod, eggs and the oil of bitter almonds in a mixing bowl until the substance becomes a little bit foamy.
