Onion tart or German Zwiebelkuchen

Recipe Ingredients for 3-4 servings
of onion tart or german Zwiebelkuchen:

for the dough:
250 g flour
100 ml milk

pinch of sugar
1 teasp. of salt

20 g yeast
20 g sunflower oil



for the filling of the onion tart or Zwiebelkuchen:
500-600 g onions
200 ml cream
250 g curd cheese, light
1 teasp. ground caraway
3 teasp. salt
1-2 teasp. ground pepper
100 g grated gouda cheese
2-3 teasp. chopped parsley

This baking recipe is a variation of the typical german Zwiebelkuchen or onion tart. Once we had forgotten to buy ham Kristin just left it out.

 

Preparation of this traditional german onion tarte recipe:

1. Make a soft yeast dough out flour, milk, yeast, sugar, sunflower oil.

5 waxy big potatoes
1 kohlrabi

1 l vegetable stock
2 small onions

Makes 8 to 12 servings of layered salad.

Ingredients for layered salad:

 

1 iceberg lettuce
100 g cooked ham
255 g kidney beans, canned
175 g tangerines, canned

150-200 g gouda cheese
500 ml salad cream, low fat 4,8%
340 g pineapple, canned
285 g canned corn
50 g nachos
200 g leek

Yesterday we had about 20° to 25°C
(77° F) and a clear blue sky.
The ideal conditions to have a BBQ with friends.
In a lot of german households there ecxist special reicpes that are preferentially only prepared for BBQs or birthday parties.

Spinach cream cheese canneloni

Ingredients for 2-3 servings of cannelonis
1,35 kg cream spinach (frozen)
150 g cream cheese (optional with herbs)
Canneloni recipe
500 g farmer cheese
20-25 canneloni (dried)
1 teasp. salt
0,5 teasp. paprika
150-200 g grated gouda (cheese)
1 egg

Preparation of the canneloni recipe:
1. Unfreeze the spinach in a casserole dish and arrange it even on the bottom of the casserole to get a nice structured canneloni casserole.

Arugula salad with pears

250 g fresh arugula aka rocket or roquette
100 g Gouda Cheese from the netherlands
3 sweet midsize pears
150g fine diced ham

1 tbsp. fine balsamico vinegar
1 tbsp. olive oil extra vergine
juice of a half lemon

Preparation of this arugula salad recipe:
1. Wash the arugula leaves, peel and pit the pears then cut them into fine slices. Coat the sliced pears with the lemon juice.
