    Hi Kristin and Alex,

I really love what you are doing with your blog. Thanks for getting in touch with me. I would love to share recipes with you.
I am an Australian living in London with parents from Croatia and New Zealand. I have been lucky enough to inherit a legacy of recipes that combine these two cultures.
I love German food, in particular roast pork knuckle, potato salad, cheese salad, blackforest ham, strudels and knockles.

Thank you for your positive feedback!! To grow up with parents from Croatia and New Zealand definitely gives a deep insight into both cultures, doesn’t it? As far as it seems for us you are a real cosmopolitan. We would like to underline your nice blogwork by adding it to our blogroll soon and eagerly anticipate your next articles.

    Hi Kristin n Alex,

I like german cuisine, specially all in tube form like bratwurst.
I’m from Indonesia, I never experience the authentic flavor that true Germany here. I’d like to know if you can share the essence of german flavor, and what the history behind your heirloom recipes.

    Cheers,
    Mayang

    Hi Mayang,
from my point of view the essence of german flavor can – like probably every flavor of any of the other cuisines in the world – be understood as a mosaic of reams of different flavors, odors and textures of more or less well combined ingredients prepared more or less skillful.
Most of the recipes that were handed-down to us have been prepared in our childhood by our parents. Several of these recipes were once handed down to our parents and so on…

Thank you for your interesting question.
I will keep thinking about the aspects you asked for and hope to get more insight myself sooner or later.

Probably the second best way to get to know german cuisine is to visit Germany the best way is to prepare german recipes with a little help of a german friend. You are welcome :-) !

    Hi Kristin and Alex,

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Just a glance at your site makes me excited to try out some German dishes. I have a few German and Austrian friends who have made me delicious food like strudel, knoedel, spatzle, and kaiserschmarrn. But I know there’s a whole lot more to German cuisine than just those dishes :)

    Cheers,

    Katina
