Rhubarb cake with meringue

Makes 5 to 6 servings rhubarb cake:

Ingredients:

500 g rhubarb
100 g margarine (optional butter)

125 g sugar
2 tbsp. baking powder
125 g custard powder vanilla
300 ml milk
100 g powdered sugar
3 eggs

There are several rhubarb recipes in Germany. We use to prepare rhubarb when it is fresh available on markets. The fresh sour rhubarb is an interesting product for several dessert recipes.
A lot of german rhubarb recipes are for cakes, muffins, tortes other rhubarb recipes are for example spreads.

Easter bread or yeast bread recipe

Makes 5 to 6 servings of yeast or easter bread:

500 g flour
42 g yeast
200 ml milk
75 g sugar
lemon zest of one midsize lemon
100 g margarine (optional butter)
1 teasp. salt
1 egg white
1 egg yolk
1 tblsp. milk
25 g coarse sugar
25 g chopped almonds

Preparation of easter bread or yeast bread:

     

  1. Pour flour and sugar in a big mixing bowl. Heat up the milk in a cup in the microwave until it is handwarm. Then dissolve the yeast in the
    milk.

Leg of lamb with orzo

Ingredients for 3-4 servings leg of lamb roast with orzo:
1kg leg of lamb, deboned
1 carrot
2 midsize onions
1 sprig of rosemary
1 sprig of sage
1 sprig of thyme
2 cloves garlic
200 ml meat broth
1 tbsp. honey 

500 g orzo
75 g feta
125 g crushed tomatoes
100 ml cream
1/2 teasp. oregano

Preparation of roast leg of lamb with orzo:

     

  1. Chopp the herbs and garlic and stuff  them into the deboned leg of
    a lamb. Optional tie the meat with butcher’s string into accurate form.

Muffin recipe makes 12 muffins.

Ingredients for the dough:

50 g butter
1 egg
100 g flour
35 g sugar
2 teasp. vanilla sugar
1/2 teasp. baking powder

Ingredients for the filling:
150 g marinated tangerines
250 ml milk
37 g custard powder vanilla
75 g sugar
a pinch of salt

Preparation of the dough:

1. Fill the flour in a mixing bowl add the other ingredients and mix it to a fine dough. Now put the dough in the fridge.
